Essential Truths, Part 2.  Seminar type discussion class led by Bro. Henry King.  
The topics for this class were covered during the Winter quarter 2010/2011. This class will cover each of the topics in more detail in a round table discussion format. Sessions include: Who is God? God wants to talk to me? What does God expect of me? Why is the Bible so important? Who is Jesus? How can I be forgiven? What happens when someone died? Why can’t I be a Lone Ranger Christian? How do I keep it real in a phony world? How do I deal with temptation? What makes life meaningful? Who is the Holy Spirit and how does He help me? What is this thing called Grace?
 
Unique Design:  Connecting with the Christian Community:  Led by Samantha Adams. 
 Sessions include Made in the Image of God, My Personality, What are my Special Talents?, What does the Bible say about Spiritual Gifts?, What are My Spiritual Gifts?, Affirming Each Other's Ministry Gifts, Journaling My LIfe Experiences, Putting It All Together, Finding My Ministry, Mentoring and Being Mentored, Working on a Team, How Do I Fit Into God's Plans?
 
A New Class:  For Single Young Adults: Led by Stephanie Taylor
Contagious Community, living beyond yourself.
This class is for college age and single young adults in the church and community.
 
Jesus on Money:  Led by David Arnold
A discussion and interactive class dealing with Biblical issues of personal finance.  There will be take home work sheets and lessons.  The class will focus on Biblical principals of dealing with personal and family finances, tithing, support, and our jobs.
 
 

Each quarter there will be a new selection of classes, new teachers, new options.
Each member will have the opportunity to chose a class and topic based on his/her needs, desires, and areas of interest.
 
The classes and teachers will be posted prior to each new quarter. (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall).
 
Options will include:
 
    Study of books of the Bible, both Old and New Testament,
    Topics related to life style and discipleship,
    Studies of doctrine and theology,
    Traditional style Bible study class following a standard curriculum
    Topical interest studies in details (example:  Beth Moore type lessons)
    Special interest classes,  (example:  parenting young children, dealing with finances)
    Class for new Christians, new members.
    And others.
 
Some classes will last one quarter.  Others may last more than one quarter based on the length of the study and the detail needed.
 
Each person will choose a class for the quarter based on needs, questions, or special interests.
At times a group may decide to take a class together.
 
Teachers and classes will rotate each quarter and there be new class and topic options.
 
Some of the topics will be repeated in later sessions to give everyone a chance to attend a class of their choice.
 
Everyone will register their attendance in the lobby at the beginning of each quarter and then at the beginning of each Sunday session and share a time of fellowship and refreshments.

     6 lessons on Advance the Gospel, 4 on Advance in Christian Truth, and 3 on Advance in      Christian living.
 
Prayer, Ministry of Intercession.  Taught by Amy Warr
     This study will be from a book by Andrew Murray
 
Help, I'm the parent of a small child,  Parenting with Grace.  Taught by David and Sandra Arnold
     Books used are Grace Based Parenting and Born to be a Blessing
 
Critical Decisions:  Surviving in Today's World, taught by Laura Jones
     13 sessions involving Choosing: Godly Values, to stand firm, wisdom in relationships, to delight      in God, God's  will, God's forgiveness, God's authority, to study God's Word, the Holy      Spirit's guidance, to grow in faith, Godly counsel, God's wisdom, God's priorities
 
Vital Pursuits:  Developing My Spiritual Life,  Taught by Robert Hancock.

This is the new Sunday morning, Small Group Bible Study and this is how it works:

Questions of Truth or Consequences:  Led by Max Padgett. A series of lessons based on stories from Chronicles and Kings. Does my character count? Do my decisions matter?   Where is my future headed?

Attitudes:  Led by Roz Ward. This study is currently in progress and will finish during the winter quarter. The weeks remaining when the study is completed will be used to study the book of Judges.
 
Intentional Choices, Dealing with Stress: Led by Samantha Adams. These sessions will deal with different aspects of stress. Anxious anticipation, making mistakes, relationships, loss, labor, excess demands, crisis, anger, negative evaluation, change, unfulfilled expectations, decision making, and monotony.
